None of your business!

For those who think all ‘Muslims’ think alike and love to live under restrictions and Sharia law, here’s a brilliant video of a Saudi woman refusing to comply with the demand of the morality police that she leave the mall because her hair is showing, she’s got nail polish and lip stick. She stands her ground in a way that will make you smile all day, every day for the rest of the week.

    Is this in Saudi Arabia?

  2. What was the outcome? Was she allowed to stay at the mall or was she kicked out? Or does anyone know?

    1. Good question. I fear that the morality police won’t let this go so easily.

She mentions the name Aal Al-Sheik which happens to be the name of the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, so it appears that she may be “connected”.

*Fun fact* Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, has said girls as young as 10 years old can be married.

    1. Or it may just be that she is trying to say she is the ‘real’ Muslim and not them. They must be his henchmen as the morality police usually follow orders of vile muftis or ayatollahs. I know in situations where religion is the status quo like in a religious state, religion colours eveything and people sometimes must say they are real versus fake Muslims in order to survive.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is the role of these guys? I’m presuming the uniformed guys are the civil police and the first set of guys are what exactly?

    1. They are the morality police – the others are regular police. Morality police are there to make sure you don’t have make up and mail polish, your eyes don’t look too tempting, you are veiled properly, and that you are not mixing with the opposite sex…

        Thanks for your reply.

I thought it was something like that but what I don’t understand is the legal status (if any) of these guys.

She just tells them to shove it and doesn’t get arrested (presuming of course she wasn’t arrested after this point).

Do they have any legal status?

        Thanks.

Wow! That’s what I call backbone.
It’s a shame though she has to fight for this at all.

You were right. I’m grinning so hard my monitors gotten all blurry. None of their business, indeed! She is my new hero.
