And Deacon Fred, the pastor of the Landover Baptist Church, says: ‘Jesus will roast unsaved children in hell for celebrating Christmas without his permission.’ [This seems to be a well-known site that pokes fun at Christianity. Don’t blame me though for believing it was real – it sounded very Christian!]

You may be familiar with a recent meme that has appeared called Poe’s Law. Named for Nathan Poe, who articulated it in 2005, it says, “Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of fundamentalism that someone won’t mistake for the real thing.”
The corollary holds that actual fundamentalism is easily mistaken for a parody of fundamentalism.
That is what makes places like the Landover Baptist Church, LarkNews.com and The Holy Observer so much fun: unsuspecting people who start screeching around the Internet about the ridiculous extremism and stupidity of some people.
I would not be surprised if there were equivalent sites related to Islam.

Actually, one would expect well known internet atheists to know which sites are parody sites and which are not, especially those of which have been running for a fair amount of time. Landover, as I understand it was there at the Cross in Calvary.
Gah, I wish guys like him would shut the hell up. My mother is often a victim to this kind of talk; it’s almost an annual tradition for her to declare she’s banning Christmas in the house because of her own guilt regarding religion but not this year.
And if that sentiment of Choudary is true, then I was due to burn since I was a baby anyway. My Dad wouldn’t stop celebrating Christmas for anything!
Yes, Landover Baptist is a well-known satire site.
However, some of the real, non-satirical Christians in the USA (e.g. Fred Phelps) are just as crazy.
