End legalised paedophilia in the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 22 September 2013, one day before the start of the school year in Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Majlis or parliament passed a law permitting a stepfather to marry his adopted child.
In defence of the law, one Member of Parliament said: “According to Islam, every child who is accepted as an adopted child is not considered a real child. Islamic jurisprudence and Sharia law allow the guardian of the child to marry and have sex with his step-child.”
This shocking law will encourage child ’marriages’ and is nothing more than legalised paedophilia and child rape. It will further endanger the welfare of the child and violate her basic rights. It will deny the child any sense of security and safety in the home.
Children First Now and Fitnah – Movement for Women’s Liberation unequivocally condemn this inhuman law. On 11 October, International Day of the Girl Child, we call on the public and rights organisations to condemn this legalised paedophilia and child rape. This law, like many other laws in the Islamic regime of Iran, violates the dignity and rights of children. And it must be stopped.
Here are five things you can do on 11 October, International Day of the Girl Child, to condemn legalised paedophilia and child rape, and demanding dignity, security and rights for all girls and children in Iran and beyond:

2. Sign our petition and forward it to 10 friends or acquaintances.
3. Write to Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Leader, info_leader@leader.ir, Twitter: @khamenei_ir or to Hassan Rouhani, President, media@rouhani.ir, Twitter: @hassanrouhani demanding an end to child rape and paedophilia.
4. Publicise the campaign on social media including by changing your social media profile to our campaign poster. Join the Event on Facebook.
5. Do an act of solidarity on the internet, in your city square, at work, at your university… in support of children’s rights and against the law.

عليه قانوني شدن سوء استفاده جنسي از کودکان در جمهوري اسلامي ايران
روز ۲۲ سپتامبر٬ يک روز قبل از آغاز سال تحصيلي در ايران٬ مجلس حکومت اسلامي قانوني تصويب کرد که بر اساس آن به ناپدري اجازه ازدواج با فرزند خوانده را ميدهد.
يکي از اعضاي مجلس در دفاع از اين لايحه گفت: “با توجه به اينکه در اسلام کودکي که به فرزندي پذيرفته شده٬ بعنوان فرزند واقعي در نظر گرفته نميشود٬ قانون شريعت اسلامي به سرپرست اجازه ازدواج و برقراري رابطه جنسي با فرزند خوانده را ميدهد.”
این قانون تکان دهنده ازدواج با کودک را، که قبلا هم در جمهوری اسلامی قانونی بود، مورد تشویق قرار میدهد و اين چيزی نيست جز تشویق پدوفيلي رسمي. بر اساس این لایجه هيچ کودکي که به فرزندي پذيرفته شود٬ نميتواند در خانه احساس امنيت کند. این لایحه، مانند بسیاری از قوانین دیگر در جمهوری اسلامی، ناقض کرامت و حقوق کودکان است و باید متوقف شود.
نهاد کودکان مقدمند و سازمان فتنه “جنبش براي آزادي زن” مجلس شورای اسلامی و اين قانون ضد انساني را بشدت محکوم کرده و از همه سازمانهاي مدافع حقوق کودک و همه مردم در سراسر جهان ميخواهد به جمهوری اسلامی و مجلس اسلامی اش که به تجاوز به کودکان رسميت ميدهد و مبلغ پدوفيلي رسمي است بشدت اعتراض کنند.
روز ۱۱ اکتبر روز جهاني دختران است. در اين روز با صداي بلند به به جمهوری اسلامی و قوانین ضدکودکش نه ميگوييم. از همگان دعوت ميکنيم در اين روز بهر طريق ممکن به رسميت دادن به تجاوز به کودکان و حکومت ضد انسان جمهوری اسلامی اعتراض کنند.
I am curious what the legal age limits are to getting married in Iran. That is, while betrothals might be legal very young — it isn’t clear to me that always means people can get married that young. As I remember it the legal minimum in Iran is 13, though that requires the father’s consent. That’s still not good, but if you’ve been to Utah… well.
Not that I am thrilled with people marrying adopted daughters (I’m looking at you Woody Allen – though the minor technicality here is that Allen was never legally married to Mia Farrow).
Also, the country’s Guardian Council hasn’t given it’s stamp of approval to this law, which again, as I understand it, is necessary for it to finally pass (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/26/iran-lawmakers-men-wed-adopted-daughters) and it is far from a given that will happen. I’d say by all means deluge them with letters, since that’s where the pressure point seems to be.

Not that I have any reason whatsoever to doubt the content of this post – and indeed I do not doubt it – however in the interests of diligence, I would respectfully suggest it would be beneficial to post, in English (to reach more people), some supporting links/documents, especially for the source(s) of the statement by the Minister of Parliament who you quote.
Mankind is still premature to be called humans, for all the inhumane features we possess.
Nothing wrong with mankind. It’s those beasts in rags pretending to be part of humanity.
Humanity sets up these petitions. Degenerate beasts set up sharia laws.
Just don’t forget that decrying the oppression and rape of children and women does not mean getting into bed with the racist scum of the EDL and the NF. These are vile, evil people we are talking about; the rhetoric of “beasts in rags” and “degenerate beasts” is pointing in the wrong direction entirely.

You will notice that Islam is not mentioned specificly,but the inclusive word “religions” is used. Like they would bring cases against anybody critisizing the Jews.
This law has been championed by the host country of the next football World Cup, Quatar.
